Hello Anyone,
This is my first Blog & I’m not sure where to begin. I guess it’s about my personal adventure in record collecting & just random musings about music in General.
As far back as I can remember (& that’s a long way) music has been & still is a huge part of my Life. I of course played or attempted to play an instrument. In my case Drums.
After a while being in a Band is like having four Girlfriends you can barely tolerate. It stops being fun, also at 40 Years old I had started to feel the early onset of Arthritis in my wrists brought on from combination of manual work & the drumming. So in 2010 I quit….Stopped dead.
The problem is this left a big hole in my time. I had free time to burn at Weekends & nothing to do with it.
I started by some sort of inexplicable sense to become aware of something in the water, by chance or just being in the right place I don’t know but I just bought some vinyl on complete whim whist in Camden with My friend Eamonn who was visiting.
I then bought two albums on vinyl with Amazon gift vouchers I was given by my sister Suzy for my birthday. One was AC/DC – Highway to Hell & the other I bought on another whim was Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats – Bloodlust. This record subtly was about to change everything for me. I didn’t have a record player but I just started to stockpile second hand vinyl at a rate I hadn’t purchased music in a very long time.
I then had an idea which was either, a stroke of genius & for maybe the second time in my life great, great timing or one of the dumbest acts of stupidity in a large catalogue of stupid acts.
I decided to replace all my CDs with vinyl….all 6000 of them
….the fun was just about to start.

It’s only the start of the collection but storage is a huge problem. We have a dedicated room in our tiny flat but cannot find an aesthetic shelving solution that suits our Victoria decor. Any ideas?
